Survey Results

During the period 30/8/11 to 4/9/11 I undertook a survey about how people receive media. I used a website called Survey Monkey with the basic (free) package and asked 10 questions which are shown below. I posted the survey link to my Facebook page, 2 uni pages on Facebook and sent the link via email to others I know who are not on Facebook. A total of 50 people responded. In summary, of the 50 people surveyed, this is the outcome:
  1. 78% get their news headlines from television news and only 4% don't care about the news
  2. 52% get their entertainment news from the television and 15% aren't interested in it
  3. 56% collect music from iTunes (paid music) while 4% collect old records
  4. 69% collect movies by buying DVD's from shops while 12% copy them from other people
  5. 73% notice TV commercials the most over 8% for sign-writing on cars or buildings
  6. 100% use Google for finding answers
  7. 70% use YouTube for entertainment while only 6% upload their own videos to the site
  8. 50% use their computer for gaming while only 2% use a Play Station Portable (PSP)
  9. 90% communicate with friends/family via mobile phones while 4% use personal blogs
